I'm upside down but my mommy says I'm right side up!

So all this time, I thought that the feet were supposed to be down, with the head up, but apparently noooo...my feet are supposed to be UP and my head DOWN...who knew???

Well, just to stop mom from worrying so much about maybe needing to have a big surgery, I decided sometime over the past few weeks to go ahead and flip the "right" way (daddy checked on the machine at his office today...pretty useful guy, huh? He, along with everyone else, kept telling her not to worry, that I had weeks and weeks before I was "stuck" in the wrong position, but you know her...)

Oops - I kicked my daddy!

So we were sitting here watching TV tonight, and I was doing my somersaults, when BAM my dad was able to feel me kicking! I felt kinda bad, but he seemed SOOO excited (it was the first time I'd kicked him, after all; till now mom's borne the brunt of my little feet...now dad gets to join in!)

Still a little underdone, but...

I'm viable! Yay! Now what does that mean? Well, as of Thursday the 2nd, I'm over 24 weeks, which means that IF I were born, I'd have a fighting chance. There have been slightly younger kids born, so they consider 24 weeks to be the age of "viability."

On the other hand, my mom says that if I come out now, she'll be so mad at me she may lock me in something called the "NICU" for WEEKS! That doesn't sound like much fun, so I think I'll stay in here for a while longer ;-)

Over the hill...

Over the hill!  As of last Thursday, I am officially halfway done living in this nice warm, quiet place where I get constantly fed, and....hey...wait a minute...WHY would I want to leave here again?

Anyway...I’ve reached the halfway mark!  Yay for me!  I guess you could say I’m “over the hill” but since I’m technically a negative number for age, then who cares?

Still kicking away...Mom wonders if I’m doing acrobatics in here.  She hopes that I’m turning upside down, since I’m foot-down right now (it’s ok, that’s normal this early...most of us turn the right way later on!  We just do this to screw with everyone ;-)

I weigh a whole half a pound! I can TOTALLY fit into those cute skinny jeans....

It's a girl!!

So I FINALLY got a look between my legs today, and there's NOTHING THERE! They tell me that means I'm a "girl" but I don't know much about gender issues yet. I think mostly this means my parents only have to argue about one kind of name, instead of trying to come up with two. Also, my dad made some comment about "never being allowed to wear anything with writing across the butt" and something about "killing any boy who even LOOKS at me". Again, all this adult stuff confuses me. I don't even know what a "boy" is!



All my parts look ok, at least as far as we can tell at 18 weeks. You can see some pics of them here. I'm still planning on joining the world on or around March 31st. My mom might be having another ultrasound around 30 weeks to make sure the placenta completely moves out of my way (the vast majority do).
Looking forward to meeting everyone! (especially these "boys" ;-)

Whole lotta shakin going on!

I've been active!  Just the past few days, my mom has noticed a few "gas bubbles" that were more likely me stretching my constantly growing limbs!  Every now and then she says "whoah...I think I just got kicked"!  Dad can't feel them yet, I'm still only about 5 inches long.

Oh yeah...almost forgot!  Tomorrow I find out if I'm a boy or a girl!  It's rough not being able to peer over your own belly and see for yourself (not that I'd know what I was looking at...I'm too young for that kind of thing!)

My first post!

Well...this must be a first...I'm blogging and don't even know my own GENDER yet, much less have my own internet access or email account! Kids these days...

Welcome friends and family to the place where my parents-to-be will be posting information and updates about my development and progress towards this thing they call "delivery". If you're lucky, they might even post pictures and videos of me once I'm here! Keep checking the site for updates.

As of this past Thursday, I'm 16 weeks and counting. My official due date is March 31st, but we'll see how THAT goes! On the 27th, my mom gets more pictures taken, and if she's lucky, they'll tell her and Dad exactly what parts I come with. Maybe I'll even get a name at some point after that!

All this dictating has gotten me tired (what...you thought I was typing? Nope, this is courtesy of my dad...I've just last week started forming fingernails!) Time to take another loop of the old womb and keep on chugging away making organs like eyes, ears, and other parts! More soon!
