Boiled carrots? THIS is real food?

Wow...BIG week! I know it's been a while, and I've got lots of updates! First off...we've moved! I mentioned before that we'd be moving to Roanoke, Virginia, and well, we did. We've got a neat pool in the backyard, but it's been too rainy to enjoy it so far.

In the meantime, Mom and Dad decided to try giving me some different foods...and by "food" they seem to mean "boiled carrots." Are you kidding me?? Boiled carrots are not food...they're mushy, grainy, nasty...something, I don't know what, but NOT food! Tell me...would YOU eat smashed up boiled carrots? Yeah, thought not. This is how I felt about it...

Much to my relief, they also thought maybe sweet potatoes would do the trick. Much better, but still not quite as good as nice, bland, milky rice cereal. Today we tried avocado (my poops had become a little hard and painful from all these solids, and apparently avocado have lots of fiber. TMI, I know!)

One other BIG accomplishment this week...I can sit up! I still need some assistance particularly when my bobblehead starts to lean one way or the other, but at least I'm sitting now! One more step on my plan to slowly get mobile and start scurrying every which way...see, right now they think all these milestones are "cute" but pretty soon they're gonna WISH I'd stopped at sitting and rolling, while they're chasing me all over the house worrying about what I might get into!

Again?? You're kidding me...

Moar shots??? Now, this is just brutal...give a girl a break!

Again? Really?
Oh, and on top of the fact that I got 6 month shots, there's this "rule" that you can't have your flu shot until you're actually 6 months old...which Mom didn't know when she made my 6 month appointment for the day before my 6 month birthday (um...isn't she a pediatrician? Shouldn't she know these things??), so Dad had to bring me BACK, on my BIRTHDAY, to get my flu shot. People...it's stuff like this that's gonna make me afraid to go to the doctor! (Hey...didn't Michelle Bachmann say it should be my choice if I get vaccinated or not? Sounds like a lady with a good head on her shoulders...)

Other than that double dose of needles in my thigh rolls, it's been a pretty neat week. I've gotten so much more curious about everything, now that I know I can just reach and touch or grab whatever I want! You'd better watch out if you plop me down near anything you don't want babydrool all over!

For those who don't know, we're moving this week! Remember the post from a few weeks, ago, about the house with the pool? Well, we're heading there...tomorrow! All week the movers have been here packing my stuff up (and Mom and Dad's, of course) and now they're gone, and we're heading to Virginia!

Um...guys? I don't go in the truck...
I did get to see my friend Ava one last time before I left. She's such a big girl now (even though I'm older, by 5 days!) She's sitting (but not rolling!), and like me she's eating cereal. We had a good time exploring each others' face. Next time I'm sure we'll have teeth and let the biting commence!

I can't control my fingers, I can't control my brain...

...I wanna be sedated!

Had another echo yesterday, as a final step to moving to Roanoke and getting a new cardiologist! Since I'm a big girl now and wasn't gonna put up with being held down for an hour without wriggling, they had to sedate me. I tell you what...they say that rice cereal helps you sleep...it's got NOTHIN on pentobarbital! This is me, HOURS after the sedation apparently wore off, "playing" on my playmat:

So I know you're all wondering what the echo showed...and as usual, no news is good news. We kind of hoped that Dr. C would just come in and say "HA-HA you just got PUNK'D!" and tell us this was all some bad joke, but unfortunately not. I've still got that big hole and those messed up pipes, but nothing's changed all that much and my lungs are still not getting overloaded, which helps keep surgical options open. They're still thinking that sometime around 9 months to a year is when things will have to happen. He and the surgeon are going to talk about it and see if any more details can be planned in advance. But for now...watch and wait!

(if you need to be caught up on what I'm talking about, go here)

Meanwhile...om nom nom...

But it's a DRY heat... (click to view video!)

Wow! We went to Phoenix this weekend, where it's HOT! How hot was it? It was 105F...HOT...were you born on the sun??

I got to meet TONS of new family this weekend...Grandma Beth's sister Suzie and her husband Ken, who just loved my smiles and laughs and gave me a couple new books to read. I also went over and saw Great-Grandpa Charlie. I wonder if he was named after my dog Charlie Brown...?

I also went over to PopPop's brother Jim's house, where I met Jim and Gloria, Amanda and Allison, Jessica and Becky...and a few of my cousins, too! And guess what...I went SWIMMING! Dad took me in and floated me all around the pool. Not sure what I thought of the whole "suspended in the water" thing, but it was a great way to cool off from the hot day.

You guys remember how much trouble I gave Mom and Dad last week when they tried to feed me that rice cereal? Well, that was my little way of making sure they know who's in control. I do what I want! This week, I wanna eat...

Check it out!

Look what I can (almost) do!

(no, Dad's hand is not helping...not at this particular moment...but you can see he's good at spotting me while I learn!)
